I’m sorry if I missed a couple of blog posts in the past week. I was on a vacation mode, so.
Anyway, we’re back and we’re gonna quickly discuss one of the products included in my BDJBox Elite for December 2016, the Moisturizing Lip and Cheek Duo.
According to the info card included in the BDJ box, these cost Php 665 a piece.
From the info card:
Celebrate the most sparkling of seasons and let your lips and cheeks sparkle with the Moisturizing Lip and Cheek Duo! Its oil-free, streak-freek mousse formula enriches and moisturizes lips and cheeks with powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants such as, Tocopheryl Acetate, or Vitamin Eh, which protects lips and cheeks from free radicals that leads to dryness, and Sodium Hyaluronate with Glycerin, which improve moisture-retention for softer, smoother lips and cheeks.
The BDJ Box included two shades: rosy blush and soft berry. I think these are the only shades available. Don’t quote me on that, though.
The texture of the product – I mean the product itself – is matte. It’s not watery like what you would expect from a “moisturizing” make up.
It swatched kind of shiny on my hand, but it looked matte on the lips (moisturizing matte, perhaps), and it felt like creamy matte.
Here are the swatches in different light settings:
I was eyeing the Rosy Blush – an old rose kind of color – because it looked very pretty on the tube, but I liked Soft Berry better only because it had more obvious pigment. Rosy Blush looked very, very close to my natural lip color, so it looked like I was wearing no lippie. The color is perfect for those who prefers nude lips, but I’m not a fan of muted colors.
- I’m not a fan of this. Longevity is virtually non-existent. And there are literally just two colors (I’m not sure on that last part though). Also, one of the colors looks a lot like my lip color, which I personally do not like because it makes me feel so naked.
- The only saving grace of this lippie is it applied beautifully, texture-wise. It IS moisturizing and very comfy to wear.
- I don’t think the price is justifiable. If you’re into natural-looking make-up, you might want to make a second look, but then again, there are better lippies out there specially of this price range. If you’re into the health benefits, then… I suppose you can justify the price?
- Maybe if there are wider color selection, and actual staying power, I might recommend this. But I would pass on this if I were you.
