Abenson Online: How to Order

If you haven’t heard yet, Abenson offers electronic items with quite enticing prices in their online store.

And by “quite enticing”, I mean 40 to 70 percent off the original price.

They do that sometimes.

I first heard about it when I was still on the market for Lumia 1020. But because of some unfortunate events, I was not able to order from them. Sad face.

Anyway, my brother asked me to purchase a Sony Playstation 3 online through Abenson’s webstore for him since he does not have a credit card (and I just FULLY paid mine, lemmejazsey).

I was hesitant to do it since I read one review that it took weeks before the order to be delivered to one dude. I don’t have the patience for that. But hey, a 40% off is a 40% off.

The PS3 costs P8,999 and they deliver for free (it’s a promo of some sort)

Here’s a timeline of the whole thing:

Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 2:13 AM: I placed the order online and pre-paid via my credit card.

Yes, it was 2 in the morning, and I did it via my smartphone. It’s really easy. I just had to fill up some form, and by the looks of it, it’s not that difficult (I did it half-asleep).

After placing the order, I was directed to PesoPay Payment Service. I already used PesoPay when I bought our Cinemalaya tickets so this was nothing new to me anymore.

Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 2:14 AM: email of Order Information

After placing my order, an email confirmation was sent to me. I checked my account but the 9k was not yet charged to my credit card.

Then I slept.

Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 11:39 AM: I emailed supporting documents

As a confirmation or security thingy, I had to send them a copy of my ID (I sent them my passport). My brother was also supposed to receive the item upon delivery since I won’t be at home, and I don’t want them to deliver it at the office anyway. So with my ID, I also sent an authorization letter.

They sent me a template with the Order Information, so all I had to do was fill in the blanks.

Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 12:10 PM: confirmation of receipt of docs

I got an email from an Abenson rep telling me that they received the documents and were just wait for confirmation. I didn’t see this email immediately (just saw it on Tuesday) since it was on my junk mail.

Good thing I DID check my junk mail. Ugh, curses!

Tue, Sep 16, 2014 at 5:18 PM: order confirmation, sked of delivery

FINALLY! An email came with the Confirmation Letter. The unit was set to be delivered the next day (today!).

I printed the Confirmation Letter. My brother (who’s my authorized rep based on the authorization letter) needed to present upon delivery the Confirmation Letter, the authorization letter, a clear copy of my ID and a clear copy of his ID.

Tue, Sep 16, 2014: My credit card was charged

After receiving the email, I immediately checked my account and true enough, my CC’s charged already.

Wed, Sep 17, 2014 at 3:25 PM: Delivery of item
My brother sent me a message that the unit already arrived.

Yehey!

With all fairness, the whole process only took three days 🙂

I therefore will consider Abenson when purchasing stuff, although I don’t think I’m in need of refrigerator anytime soon.

Thanks, Abenson 🙂
